City Parking Ordinances Very Anti-RV
Many places in the country are cracking down on RV parking and after traveling around the nation I understand some of these concerns, as folks park for months in one spot and never leave. Homeless on wheels I guess you might say? Unfortunately, as more and more cities make ordinances an RVer cannot know all the rules in every city and this can cause issues indeed.
This is not just happening in the United States although there are some harsh rules now in Southern CA, Florida and many other places. But Canada too is attempting to take action against RVers and parking. Personally, as an RVer I think this is really dumb, because it is like saying we do not want your tourist dollars; LEAVE!
As a for instance; in Prince George, British Columbia passed an ordinance that anyone parking 24-hours would get a ticket. Well the crap hit the fan and two-weeks later they did remove that rule, but it just goes to show the problems.
In Las Vegas, NV and Clark County they wanted to pass a rule; no over night parking of RVs. Wow, you mean you do not want anyone to visit Las Vegas, NV in an RV who cannot get a reservation in an RV Park? Nuts I tell you. And this rule did not pass either, but it is the anti-RV thought that is troubling. Consider this in 2006.
